The a,b,c & d’s of MEDICARE was held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the Penn LGBT Center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.  Twenty-two people attended the seminar.  Karen Chenoweth of the Center for Advocacy for the Rights and Inters of the Elderly (CARIE) (www.carie.org) presented information about the basics of Medicare Parts A, B, C & D.  The presentation was an interactive discussion with questions addressed throughout the program.

medicare-event-photoThe purpose of the program was to assist consumers in making their decisions about Medicare options during the Open Enrollment period, which is available each fall.

Along with the LGBTEI, CARIE, Social Solutions, Circle of Friends, and William Way Community Center (www.waygay.org) collaborated to plan and present the a,b,c & d’s of MEDICARE.  Media support was provided by the Philadelphia Gay News(www.epgn.com) and the event space was provided by the Penn LGBT Center.
