Philadelphia’s HIV & Aging Task Force has developed a new infographic to illustrate the relationship between aging and HIV/AIDS. The infographic includes prevention messaging for older adults, information on the risk factors facing elders, and city-wide statistics on the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the city’s age 50+ population. In the city of Philadelphia, 32% of people living with HIV are over the age of 50, as are 52% of people living with AIDS.

The HIV & Aging Task Force includes representatives from the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Action Wellness, and the LGBT Elder Initiative. The aim of the Task Force is to increase awareness of the needs of older adults living with HIV and AIDS, promote advocacy and prevention efforts, and provide unity among the agencies committed to supporting the population.
