This March, SAGE held it’s first-ever National Day of Advocacy, bringing LGBT elders, people living with HIV, and allies together in Washington D.C. to share their stories face-to-face with their elected representatives. Participants advocated with lawmakers to improve federal protections to ensure that LGBT older adults and people living with HIV are able to age with dignity and respect.

To help amplify the concerns shared at this Day of Advocacy, SAGE is inviting LGBT older adults and their allies from across the country to contact their legislators to tell them that LGBT elders and those living with HIV/AIDS matter and need specific federal protections. Stronger federal protections would help to ensure that LGBT older adults would not be discriminated against in senior housing, nursing homes, and the healthcare system.

Sending a letter to your representatives can be done quickly and easily through SAGE’s website at https://actionnetwork.org/letters/still-out-in-front/.
