Center in the Park collaborated with the Thomas Jefferson University College of Nursing to undertake the project “Understanding How African American Elders Perceive and Experience the Opioid Crisis in Philadelphia.” This collaboration aimed to address the exploratory research question: How do African American elders understand the opioid crisis in Philadelphia and its impact on their families?

We are interested in hearing from the community members, stakeholders, political figures and advocates about how older African Americans are experiencing the opioid crisis as advocates, as individuals prescribed and/or using opioids, and, as those with family members who use or abuse opioids.
