Event associated with the exhibition, “Selections from the Archives: Rami George”
Au Courant was a Philadelphia based LGBT news publication active between 1982-2000. When closed, the photos taken for publication (as well as other miscellaneous ephemera) were donated to the John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives at the William Way LGBT Community Center. Rami George went through each of these boxes of photos to select images that spoke to them. The result is over 450 scanned pages of photos, ranging from 1-4 photos on each page (a portion of which are present in the exhibition, Selections from the Archives). For this performance, Rami is presenting these scans in a slideshow format, and has invited local QTBIPOC musician and performer Savan DePaul to create a live musical score to accompany them.
This event will take place in the Mark Segal Ballroom at the Community Center.
