According to the CDC, people aged 50 and over account for an estimated 45% of Americans living with diagnosed HIV. Each year, National HIV & Aging Awareness Day calls attention to the experiences of these individuals and the resources needed to support people living with HIV as they age. Great medical advancements have made HIV a manageable chronic illness and are helping people living with HIV to thrive into their later years. Still, growing older with HIV does present potential health challenges that are important to address.
Please join us on September 18th to recognize National HIV & Aging Awareness Day and to learn about ways for people living with HIV to best manage their health as they get older. Dr. Jay Kostman from Philadelphia FIGHT will discuss many of the health issues that often face older adults living with HIV and share strategies that will help to improve health and wellness.
