The Doctor Is In Exercise & Physical Activity
March 9 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Exercising regularly is one of the most important things that we can do for our health at any age. Regular physical activity helps to lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, and reduce the risk for developing several commonly occurring cancers. Keeping our bones, joints, and muscles healthy reduces the risk for falls and helps us to stay independent. While certain types of physical activity may become more difficult as we grow older, there are many modifications that can be made to keep exercise healthy and safe for older adults.
Join the LGBT Elder Initiative and Jefferson Health for this month’s “Doctor Is In” webinar to learn about exercise for older adults. We will learn different exercises that we can do in order to maintain and improve strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility, including exercises that can be completed at home. We’ll also talk about ways to find the exercise routines that best meet our needs, as well as ways to maintain our motivation to stay physically active.
Support for this program is provided by Jefferson Health.
