The Doctor Is In: Falls Prevention
September 12, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
Falls and fall-related injuries are among the most serious and common medical problems experienced by older adults. One in four older adults will experience a fall each year, with these falls often leading to serious and costly injuries. The risk of falling increases as you get older due to changes to your vision, balance, flexibility, and bone and muscle strength. Certain age-related health conditions, and the medications used to treat them, can also increase the risk of a fall.
Join the LGBT Elder Initiative and Jefferson Health for this month’s “Doctor Is In” program to learn how you can best protect yourself from falls. We will discuss the factors that contribute to falls and share strategies to prevent fall-related injuries.
