Medications play a vital role in keeping us healthy as we grow older. They can cure illnesses, help us manage symptoms, and improve our comfort and quality of life. But if not used effectively and safely, medications can cause new health complications and dangerous side effects. Some drugs may negatively interact with other medicines, vitamins, or supplements that we take. Many medications won’t be effective unless we follow specific instructions for their use, while others may have side effects that we need to understand.

Join us for this month’s Doctor Is In program to learn about safe and effective medication use. We’ll learn about managing side effects, detecting possible drug interactions, and effectively communicating with our doctors and pharmacists. We’ll also discuss strategies for adhering to medication directions and keeping up-to-date prescription lists.

-This program is free and open to the public
-Snacks and beverages will be served
-SEPTA reimbursement will be provided to cover travel costs
