Is your blood pressure at a healthy level? Nearly half of all adults in the United States have high blood pressure, though many are unaware of this. High blood pressure, also called hypertension, can damage the circulatory system and increase the risk of several potentially fatal health issues. It is a primary risk factor for cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney failure, and heart attacks. Older adults are disproportionately affected by hypertension due to changes to the arteries as one ages.

We will learn about the ways to monitor one’s blood pressure and to reduce the health risks that come with hypertension.
