THRIVERS is a monthly discussion group for people impacted by HIV that relies on the personal expertise within our communities to help one another get the most out of life and to take advantage of the opportunities before us.

This month, we will talk about the importance of being a self-advocate in healthcare settings. Being a self-advocate can mean asking questions about our medical care, openly sharing symptoms we are experiencing, and voicing any concerns to ensure that our needs are met. We will discuss strategies we can use at our medical appointments and when interacting with our providers to ensure that we are receiving the best care.
