Population Health Forum: Changing Systems, Changing Lives

March 13, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Presented by the Jefferson College of Population Health

Room 105/107

The Jefferson College of Population Health will host Nora Dowd Eisenhower, JD and Angela Foreshaw-Rouse, MS in “Changing Systems, Changing Lives,” on March 13, 2019 from 8:30-9:30 am in room 105/107 in Bluemle Life Sciences Building on 233 South 10th Street.

Pennsylvania is the 4th oldest state in the nation and more than 1.6 million people care for older parents, spouses or other loved ones, helping them to live independently in their own homes.

Both AARP and the SeniorLAW Center are working together to support caregivers, their families and loved ones. The speakers will discuss some of the systemic responses to these realities, including the CARE Act, and guides to financial caregiving.

Learning Objectives:
1. Explain the story behind the Care Act and its impact in Pennsylvania.
2. Describe one of the newest trends in caregiving, known as ‘financial caregiving’ and its relationship to enhancing the quality of life for all as we age.
3. List who the leaders in supporting older people Pennsylvania are and how can we collaborate across sectors to insure successful outcomes.
