Experiencing some memory loss can be a normal part of the aging process. Dementia, however, is a far more serious decline in cognitive functioning that interferes with a person’s daily life and activities. This can include a loss of functioning related to memory, language skills, visual perception, problem-solving, and the ability to pay attention.
Join the LGBT Elder Initiative and Jefferson Health for this month’s “Doctor Is In” program to learn about dementia and cognitive health. We will learn about the ways that dementia impacts the brain and cognitive functioning, review the risk factors for dementia, and gain tips and strategies for maintaining brain health.
