The Doctor Is In: Skin Cancer & Summer Safety
August 14, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeOur skin undergoes many changes as our bodies grow older. Many of these changes are relatively harmless, but others can cause pain, discomfort, and health complications. Other skin problems can occur as a result of sun exposure, the most serious being skin cancer. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer, accounting for more diagnoses each year than all other cancers combined! Skin issues can be particularly prevalent during the summer months due to the increased sun exposure.
Join the LGBT Elder Initiative and Jefferson Health for this month’s “Doctor Is In” program to discuss skin health. We’ll learn how to protect our skin, especially during the summer months, as well as other precautions we should take during the high temperatures and frequent sun of the summer months!
